Heinrich client is Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL) who is the Sub contractor of Main contractor/System Integrator Ansaldo STS for the Kolkata metro rail Project and Employer/End Customer is KMRCL-Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
Customer Requirement :
The requirement for the Kolkata metro rail project is to have most reliable and effective integrated Public Address System (PAS) along with the Integration with Telephone/Tetra, CDRS-Central Digital Recording System, Master Clock System, FOTS-Fibre Optic Transmission System, Fire Alarm System and ICMS-Integrated control management system.
HEINRICH Solution :
HEINRICH provided the solution for the PA System based on Heinrich PA System, a standard existing solution developed by Heinrich and deployed in the passenger rail transport environment (main lines, commuter lines, and metro lines).
The Heinrich PA solution is an integrated solution, permitting to the Passenger Information Controller at the Operational Control Centre, and operator in the Station Control room full control of these systems through a single HMI computer.
All supplied equipment complies in accordance with EN54-16, EN54-24, EN 50121-4, EN 55103-1, BS 5839 Part 1, BS EN 54-4, and to current safety standards applicable in India.
Features :
HEINRICH Designed, Supplied and commissioned the PAVA system in Kolkata metro rail project. The advanced features allows for tiered user role operation across multiple sites, fail-over and redundancy at all operational locations, monitoring and control of all faulty equipments from synchronised HMI workstations, located within the stations and in central operational control rooms.
Project Overview :
Kolkata Metro require to have the safety, control and announcement system to be used to address, alert passengers and to inform passengers about the train arrival and departure schedules.
Total Number of Stations= 12
Total Number of Depot= 02
Control Centre (OCC & BCC)= 02
Total Number of Location to Execute= 16 Numbers
Total Number of sites installation and commissioning completed by February 2020= 09 Locations (06 Stations, 2 Operation Control Centre OCC & BCC and 1 Depot )
First Section Inaugurated= 13th February 2020 by Union Railway Minister of India Mr. Piyush Goyal.
Solution :
Heinrich designed, built and commissioned a multi-node distributed Public Address and Voice Alarm system at Kolkata Metro Rail Project.
This installation uses Central Site management system as a central control component and Local Site management system at each station that is based on Heinrich’s extensively proven rack mounted PAVA hardware. Multiple PA/VA equipment nodes at different stations are networked to the central control head end and to each other over a dedicated fibre IP ring network. The networked system provides synchronised, high quality audio from a variety of audio sources including background music, and microphones.
Different type of announcement and in multi languages can be broadcasted to inform and alert passengers which includes Fixed pre-recorded messages, Instantly recorded message and Live Announcements using microphones.
Networked control and monitoring workstations have been installed at each station and in operation control Centre. Users at each station have access to broadcast announcements within their own station zones and Users at Central Operation Control Centre have access to broadcast announcement at any individual station, combination of stations and in respective zones with the precise nature with which they can target locations and to the extent of being able to make automated or manual paging announcements to any selected station and zones.
Amplification is provided by high efficiency and low quiescent current modular amplifiers of Class-D technology fed by the DSP audio routers. Audio router audio input ports enable the use of hardwired microphones, or other audio sources. Ambient Noise Sensors also used in order to provide automated volume control and adjustment based on the measure of ambient noise. Microphones connected to the network and used with the zone selection through System Management PAS/PIDS integrated software configured for live paging locally at stations and at remote stations from OCC and BCC (Central Operational Control Centre and Central Backup Control Centre).
Highly reliable and suitable Ingress Protected Loudspeakers installed in each zone of station for high quality audio broadcast.
Value Delivered :
The client is benefiting from the advanced functionality of PA announcements throughout the station and at other station location from central control centre and from local station control room. The system also provides the facility for broadcast, recording and scheduling of messages, with stored DVA messages being distributed over the fibre network to Audio Routers at multiple rack locations at each station.
